It seems Deliveroo has a new trend among its riders: stealing food off the plates of unsuspecting customers. The latest victim was a Canadian man, who received a phone call from an unnamed Deliveroo driver that told him that the food he had ordered was not in the restaurant, at which point the man asked for his money back.

After calling a handicapped client a “dumb white b**stard,” asking him to “suck your mom,” and claiming he was going to keep his order for himself, a Deliveroo driver was fired.
Matt Dutton, 24, is blind and has to rely on delivery for food and other necessities.
Last Tuesday, he attempted to order £50 worth of goods from Aldi using the Deliveroo app.
However, texts indicate that he was perplexed when the driver demanded a “delivery code” while en way to deliver the goods.
When Matt explained that he just had an order number, the obnoxious Deliveroo employee became enraged and ordered him to ‘f**k out.’
Matt, an NHS Track and Trace worker, chuckled and repeated his address, but the driver said he was “not coming” and used a racist slur.
The driver even pushed Matt to call Deliveroo to “make sure you inform them,” saying he didn’t care and boasting, “I’m going to keep your order.”

The driver had reportedly requested a delivery code, and Matt had said that he didn’t know where to look for one.
‘I believe in your email,’ says the driver.
‘I have an order number #6454, but that is all I have,’ Matt says.
‘F**k off then,’ says the driver.
‘What, Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
‘I’m not joking, lad,’ says the driver.
Matt: ‘What f**king Deliveroo code would I get? I’ve never had a code in my life.’
‘I’m not coming, you f**king white dumb bastrd,’ says the driver.
Matt: “Aren’t you a na boy, aren’t you? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha ‘Sweet innit, innit, innit, innit, innit, innit, innit, innit
‘Make sure you inform Deliveroo because I don’t care a f**k.’ ‘Go suck your mother right now.’
Matt: ‘Well, I’m going to f**kin have to, aren’t I dkhead, since you just got £50 worth of me scran ye crab.’ ‘Are you fooling with your mother?’
‘I’m going to keep your order,’ says the driver.
Deliveroo said the rider was “removed with immediate effect” because they have a “zero tolerance attitude to any kind of discrimination or harassment.”
“I was totally surprised, and my initial response was to laugh,” Matt, from Liverpool, said.
‘I wasn’t angry, but I was surprised and irritated since, as a handicapped person, I depend on these services to acquire my groceries.
‘It was my weekly purchase, so milk, bread, floor wipes, and bleach were all on the list.’
‘I was attempting to stock up since I’m blind and finding it difficult to go out to the stores.’
‘The driver completed the store, then asked if I had a code to give him as an additional security precaution on his route to my.’
‘I’m not sure whether this is a new Deliveroo thing, but I didn’t get any codes in my emails or anything.’
Aldi is just a 15-minute drive away. He got halfway to mine before deciding he didn’t want to bother.’

Matt was promised a refund for his purchase as well as a £50 credit, which he used to buy a takeout.
Matt said, “You can get a lot of food for £50 shopping at Aldi, and I’d really loaded up on food and cleaning supplies so I didn’t have to go out again.”
‘I still don’t have any food, so I’ll have to send a buddy out to buy me some groceries.’
‘I’m not pleased with his behavior or the fact that I didn’t receive my groceries.’
‘I just believe that is absolutely unjust.’
‘I completely understand the gig economy and the high-pressure, high-stress nature of this work, but the people you touch aren’t necessarily simply lazy individuals looking for a takeout.
‘These programs benefit the handicapped community tremendously, and I wish there was more attention for us.’
‘I’m not expecting special care, but getting the right therapy would be a start.’
‘Deliveroo has a zero tolerance attitude to any kind of discrimination or harassment,’ a Deliveroo spokesman stated.
‘Our escalation team responded quickly to the issue, and the rider was immediately dismissed.’
