LeBron James is set to make a mind-boggling $154 million in 2021-22, according to Forbes.com. This year, he’ll make $99 million from salary and endorsements alone, which will be the most ever for an athlete.
LeBron James is setting a new record with a mind-boggling income figure for 2021-22. His net worth will be $1.3 billion, which makes him the first athlete to become a billionaire in NBA history.
LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers isn’t even among the top five NBA earners. However, according to a rumor, his profits for the 2021–22 season would shatter the previous season’s record. James is on his way to being the first player in NBA history to earn $100 million.
This season, James is one of six players projected to earn more than $40 million, although he is at the bottom of the list. When off-court earnings were factored in, though, the four-time NBA champion blew away the competition.
LeBron James already has a huge fortune.
According to reports from the summer of 2021, James’ career earnings had surpassed $1 billion, which was correct. However, his net worth is just $850 million.
Aside from his huge Lakers salaries, James’ off-court earnings are expected to reach $70 million this season. He earns $32 million from Nike alone, and he made a fortune by letting his image to be used in the famous video game Fortnite.
Over the course of his 18 NBA seasons, the four-time NBA MVP earned $346.2 million in compensation. This season, he’ll add $41.2 million to that amount, and his deal for 2022–23 is for $44.5 million. His career earnings are expected to reach almost $432 million by the conclusion of his current deal.
In December, he will be 37, yet he is still playing at a high level. In an injury-plagued 2020–21 season, James was a 17-time All-Star and All-NBA pick, averaging 25.0 points per game. Only Karl Malone (25.5) in 1999–00 had a better scoring average than James had last season among players aged 36 or older. LeBron’s durability and production are a rare mix.

According to Forbes, LeBron James earned a then-NBA-record $96.5 million last season. When he receives his $111.2 million salary this season, he will become the NBA’s first player to earn $100 million a year.
Despite being the highest-paid player in the NBA, Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry came in well behind James on the Forbes list, with earnings of $92.8 million. His $45.8 million salary is more than $1 million higher than James Harden of the Brooklyn Nets and John Wall of the Houston Rockets. This season, each will earn $44.3 million.
Russell Westbrook, James’ new Lakers teammate, is fourth with a $44.2 million contract, while Kevin Durant of the Nets rounds out the top five with a $42 million pay.
Durant moved up to third place with $87.9 million in off-court earnings. Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks is next, with $80.3 million, and Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder is fifth, with $74.2 million.
Harden ($62.3 million), Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers ($56.3 million), Klay Thompson of Golden State ($54 million), Paul George of the Los Angeles Clippers ($47.8 million), and Miami Heat player Jimmy Butler ($47 million) round out the top ten.

LeBron James, now in his 19th season, is still a huge celebrity. However, in the past three seasons, he’s had the two most serious injuries of his career. He missed 27 games in 2018–19 due to a groin injury, the same number he lost previous season due to ankle issues.
If he remains healthy, James has a good chance of breaking Kareem Abdul-all-time Jabbar’s scoring record in 2022–23. He’s also seventh all-time in assists (9,696), free throws made (7,582) and attempted (10,337, both fifth), and minutes played (10,337, both fifth) (sixth at 50,055).
His detractors will undoubtedly point out that he has 4,592 turnovers, a record that hasn’t been broken since 1977–78. Harden holds the record for most giveaways in a single season with 464 in 2016-17.
Bronny, James’ son, may hold the key to his father’s destiny. The 17-year-old is a student at Sierra Canyon High School in Los Angeles and may enter the NBA Draft as early as 2023. When is also the year that LeBron’s contract will end.
Some club will leap at the opportunity to sell some additional seats if LeBron James wants to stay in the NBA long enough to play with or against young Bronny.
