The Bills Mafia is a group of people who have taken the time to learn about and understand how Congress works. This knowledge has allowed them to lobby for their own interests in the legislative process, which has led to some very beneficial changes for them.

Daniel Ricciardo of Formula One may seem to be an unusual member of the Buffalo Bills fan club.
The McLaren driver, who is one of F1’s most popular racers and won the Italian Grand Prix last month, is the kind of guy you connect with the sun. He grew raised on Australia’s west coast and, like most of his Formula One competitors, now resides in Monte Carlo. The Los Angeles Lakers are his NBA club, while the Los Angeles Dodgers are his MLB team.
He seemed to have a ready-made reason to select one of the Bills’ AFC North rivals, the New England Patriots, for the NFL.

The list of individuals who have caught a pass from Tom Brady may seem like a trivia night question, but Ricciardo can give it his own twist. Ricciardo stepped on one boat in the Monte Carlo port during a promotional event for the 2018 Monaco Grand Prix, caught a pass thrown by then-Patriot Brady, and then stood on another vessel.
That would seem to most to be a gift-wrapped reason to have backed the Patriots. Ricciardo was not interested.
“Obviously, I met Brady, which was incredible and incredible. However, it would have seemed to be a bandwagon “Ricciardo says ESPN ahead of the US Grand Prix next weekend (Oct. 24, 1.30PM, live on ABC).
“The Brady pass was out of this world. It was insane not only to get the permit, but also to go boat to yacht.
“After catching the first one, I became arrogant and said, ‘Let’s go farther [back].’ We turned the boat around, and I missed the next few.
“But everyone was talking about Brady and the Patriots, so I decided to try something new.”
“I resisted the urge to join a California squad. Let’s shake things up a bit, I thought. I decided to do something a bit different this time.”

Buffalo was Ricciardo’s ‘out of the box’ choice. Supporting the Bills right now may seem like riding on a bandwagon: the team is 4-1 in the AFC North, and quarterback Josh Allen is solidly in the MVP discussion. Buffalo seems to be having a good year.
Ricciardo, on the other hand, has been seeing the Bills for a while before all of this. Allen initially caught Ricciardo’s eye during the Monaco Grand Prix, a year after his Brady grab.
“He’d already established himself, but he was a rising star. It’s been a blast following him.”
Ricciardo couldn’t escape the sense that the Bills had a distinctively Australian feel about them. On the surface, it seems odd – the Bills are on the rise, while temperatures in upstate New York are plummeting. After all, Ricciardo’s other American sports clubs are all based in the west.
When asked whether he’s seen a Bills game yet, Ricciardo, who was a neutral fan at Super Bowl LIV at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, chuckles and replies, “No.”
“I’m not going to lie, I despise the cold!” So it’s strange that I’ve decided to back the Bills.
“I’d have a hard time. That’s because I don’t have enough body fat to withstand such temperatures.”
You don’t have to go far on the internet to discover footage of Buffalo Bills supporters, sometimes known as the Bills Mafia, celebrating. The Bills are known for their celebrations, whether it’s drinking in the cold or hurling themselves — or each other — through tables.
Ricciardo, who is known for filling his sweaty racing boot with champagne and drinking it before encouraging the other drivers on the podium to do the same, said the Bills fan base reminded him of what it’s like in Australia to watch sports with his buddies.
“To be honest, buddy, I’d see something viral on Instagram with the Bills Mafia at least once a week.” It reminds me of my friends from back home.
“This is a group that we would support. It communicates in our language.
“They’re all having a wonderful time, in my opinion. They seem to be very devoted admirers. I’m also aware that the Bills Mafia has a sizable charity, which is another another reason to support them. It’s about giving back to the community, which I thought was also quite nice.”
Ricciardo and Allen have a mutual admiration for one other.
Allen, like many other new Formula One fans, is a convert due to Netflix’s hugely popular Drive to Survive series. The program has sparked a surge in interest in Formula One, particularly in the United States. JJ Watt, Allen’s fellow NFL star, posted his newfound passion for the sport earlier this season, leading Mercedes to invite him to a future race.
Allen claims that everyone who sees the program will be a fan of Ricciardo, with whom he shares a CAA Sports agency.
“Obviously, anybody who watches that program knows the kind of guy Daniel Ricciardo is,” Allen says ESPN. “He just seems like such a wonderful, lively person to be around.”
“I like being associated with individuals like them. His music is one of my favorites.”
Allen has enjoyed the Ricciardo connection. He was driving into Buffalo’s facility before of a game against the Steelers when Ricciardo won the Italian Grand Prix in September, the Australian’s first win since the two clashed in Monaco in 2018.
“Every Sunday, I go up early to watch.” On Saturdays, I monitor qualifying since we’re sort of here [at the facility], but on game days, I typically get up and switch on the radio or grab my phone to play anything while I’m driving.
“Driving into the stadium and knowing that he’d won in Pittsburgh was very amazing.”

Allen was introduced to a world of racing that he had previously been unaware of thanks to Drive to Survive. Binge-watching the program gave him a better understanding of how difficult the championship can be.
“I adore automobiles.” The Formula One vehicles are really insane, and I like the noise they produce.
“The whole environment around it, how unique it is.” There are so many complicated regulations that few people are aware of.
“When there are two drivers [in a fight], they pit some individuals to try to get them in front of one another and slow them down. It’s incredible how much effort goes into it.”
The U.S. Grand Prix kicks off on Friday, Oct. 22, with Friday practice, qualifying on Oct. 23, and the race itself on Oct. 24.
